50th Class Reunion

While part two of Zucchini Nation continues to go through its gestation period, I thought I would share some photos of my 50th High School Class Reunion which I attended last fall. I am the one with the silver hair. The biggest surprise for me that night was learning that the brain of our class, whose destiny was never realized (she should have been a scientist), raises goats today. She was not in attendance.

We had a very small graduating class. These are some of our graduates from the year 1958. The man in the black blazer was our principal. Can you find me in this photo?

  1. Anyone would be able to pick you out of a crowd Susie. You're the one with the biggest brightest smile out all those people there. You were having a lot of fun and happy to be there and it is apparent from the expression on your face. I'm glad you had such a nice time. You'll be the bright smile person at your 60 year reunion too!

I missed my 30 year reunion back in 2005 because I wasn't prepared to deal with that situation. I have since registered on the Alumni website for my High School and some of the people said they would like to get together with me sometime. I don't believe they are going to have a 35 year reunion because that would be next year and I haven't heard anything about it at the Alumni site.

I'm putting my garden together this year too. I get some pictures to you as soon as it stops raining.

  2. It was difficult for me to accept that this was actually our 50th class reunion. What is worse is that our last class reunion was the 25th one. We had not had any reunions inbetween. So it had been many years since I had seen some of my classmates. In fact I had not seen some of them since graduation time. Surprisingly I recognized most of them.

Looking forward to photos of your garden work.

  3. What an exciting time for you and your entire class, and I think I see you behind your former principal. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Hi Nancy, yes, you spotted me behind my former principal Mr. Dillman. Funny thing about Mr. Dillman is that he is about 90 years old. Yet, he looks younger and seemed to have more pep than some of my classmates. His wife was in good shape too. I need to find out what brand of vitamins they take.

  5. That really must have been fun having the principal there! And if anyone got out of line, you knew where to turn...

  6. Paul, our group was well behaved that night. Must have been because the principal was present.
